Tonight, another resource. If you’re a fan of Gungor or Mike McHargue — Science Mike, you’ll love The Liturgists’ podcast. Honestly, I have not found a better resource for exploring progressive Christianity. It’s hard to name a favorite episode. Episodes 6 & 7 (“Lost and Found”) beautifully describe the deconstruction of Christian faith and finding Jesus again… Episode 34 (“Black and White: Racism in America,” featuring Propaganda) is absolutely brilliant in its treatment of racism in America and the #BlackLivesMatter movement.
And then there’s Episode 20. It’s a powerful exploration of sexuality and gender issues featuring an incredible panel from both affirming and non-affirming perspectives. I urge you, if you have not listened to this, or if you’re wanting to further your understanding, to listen to this episode. It features J.J. Peterson, Stan Mitchell, Ed Gungor, Preston Sprinkle, Donald Miller, Melissa Greene and Matthew Vines.
